An exhibition dedicated to the 20 January tragedy has been organized at the Institute of Control Systems
20.01.2021 / Conferences, assemblies31 years have passed since the tragedy of 20 January 1990, which entered the history of the Azerbaijani people as Bloody January. This event is also the peak of Azerbaijan's road to independence, the day of the awakening of our national ideology.
On the night of 19-20 January 1990, civilians were massacred by heavy equipment and various types of weapons. The main goal was to break the will of our people, who wanted independence and sovereignty, to thwart the dream of independence.
However, on 21 January, National Leader Heydar Aliyev visited the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan in Moscow and made a statement. It was this statement that played an invaluable role in the political assessment of the tragedy. Four years later, on 29 March, as a result of the efforts of the National Leader, the 20 January tragedy was given a legal and political assessment for the first time.
The date of 20 January, which left a deep mark in the history of our people's struggle for freedom, is commemorated in our country every year by holding various events.
This year, along with other events dedicated to the memory of the 20 January martyrs, an exhibition was organized at the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS. Books and other exhibits related to the tragedy were displayed at the exhibition.
