II Azerbaijan Science Festival
31.10.2016 / Conferences, assembliesII Azerbaijan Science Festival started in Baku, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Sheki and Ganja on 31 October 2016. The festival is organized by ANAS with the support from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, Executive Authority of Baku, Knowledge Fund under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Science Development Fund under the President of the Azerbaijan Repubc, US Embassy in Azerbaijan and Moscow State University .
Scientific achievements of Azerbaijani scientists in the last few years are presented at the festival. The program of the festival also includes young scientists’ presentations on various topics, familiarization with creative workshops and interactive exhibitions, excursions, contests, lectures on latest scientific innovations, entertaining scientific shows, demonstration of popular scientific films about the institutes and organization of the Academy. New scientific technologies and innovative developments are also presented at the event. Higher educational and vocational institutions functioning in our country, as well and institutes and organizations of the Academy demonstrate their achievements.
The opening ceremony of the festival took place at the Round Hall of the ANAS main building at 10:30 a.m. on 31 October. ANAS President Acad. Akif Alizade, Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov and other official guests took part in the ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, Akif Alizade personally visited the exhibition and saw all displays.
Institute of Control Systems of ANAS demonstrated monographs, patents, posters, booklets and videos describing the scientific research activity of the Institute. Director of the Institute Acad. Telman Aliev told ANAS President Akif Alizade about the activity of the Institute on the opening day.
The Baku section of the festival is held at the Scientists’ House of ANAS, closing on 1 November. It is to be opened on 1 November in Nakhchivan, on 2 November in Sumgayit, on 4 November in Sheki, on 5 November in Ganja.
