ICS employees participated in the Formula 1 volunteer program
19.06.2016 / Conferences, assembliesOn 17-19 June 2016, Baku hosted Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe for the first time.
For three days, the streets of our capital turned into a vast space of sparkling celebration of sports and culture.
From the start to the end of the recruiting period (from 19 December 2015 to 4 March 2016), more than 10 000 people submitted their applications to the organizers of the Grand Prix, wishing to take part in volunteer activities. The registered applicants were interviewed at the Volunteer Center. The applicants that successfully passed their interviews took special seminars and trainings to prepare for the competition. Thus, 5 000 volunteers were selected, and employees of our institute Sevinj Babayeva and Valeriya Pushnova were among them.
Sevinj Babayeva was offered a place among Race Marshals, the group consisting of over 300 volunteers overseeing the safety on different sectors of the race track, the length of which in Baku was over 6 km.
Valeriya Pushnova was invited to take part in the Grand Prix as a Cast Volunteer at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe opening ceremony, as part of the group consisting of more than 700 dancers, actors, musicians and volunteers.
Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe was organized at government level, which stressed the status of the project and its significance for the country.
Azerbaijan proved once again that it is capable of hosting large-scale international projects at the top level!
