A regular meeting of the Working Group on eCommerce within EU4Digital project was held
12.10.2018 / Conferences, assembliesA regular meeting of the Working Group on eCommerce within EU4Digital project between the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries was held in Batumi, Georgia, on 11-12 October 2018.
At the meeting, Azerbaijan was represented by Rashad Azizov, Head of the Department of Innovative Development of the Information Society and Electronic Governance of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic, Tofig Babayev, Head of the Foreign Relations and Innovations Department of ICS ANAS , Legal & Financial NCP of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 and expert on eCommerce, and Anar Suleymanov, First Deputy Chief of the Head Department for Technological Innovations and Statistics of the State Customs Committee and the customs coordinator for the Eastern Partnership countries within the EU4Digital Project.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss conducting an expert assessment of the projects included in the Work Group's Action Plan and the selection of projects to be implemented within the call announced by the European Commission for 2019-2021. During the meeting, the representative of the State Customs Committee made a presentation on "Exchange of preliminary information between customs services" and presented the conceptual directions of the relevant project between the Eastern Partnership countries and the European Union.
Members of the Work Group also discussed such issues as developing digital transport and logistics corridors, creating cross-border eCommerce platforms, providing trade and transport documents to government agencies in the digital environment through mutual recognition of electronic signatures, harmonizing national legislations of the Eastern Partnership countries with the European Union legislation and so on.
